Although drop side cribs are pretty much taboo mu daughter is barely 5 ft tall and has a hard time putting her baby down without the drop side My grandson s first crib was recalled so I frantically looked for a replacement that would be as safe as possible without making life miserable for my daughter This Sorrelle crib was a great find They are not made any longer however the construction is incredible The channels for the drop sides are counter sunk in the frame therefore distortion of the plastic parts is pretty much impossible The pin that sets in place for the raised/lowered side is steel I feel this is as safe as a drop side crib can be Of course the baby is checked frequently and there is always a monitor/receivers in place anytime he is in bed Play time is in a play yard never in the crib

this is very nice looking but the pad is REALLY REALLY HARD and there are no commercial sheets to fit the massive size of this pad my daughter didnt like sleeping in it abd it needed extra padding just to make it comfortable dont buy not worth the money

When I was buying for my new baby and I
Was almost due to give birth I went shopping for cradles I spent a zillion dollars on an elaborate handpainted cradle that had to be specially ordered There was some type of delay with that cradle and the doctors said I would be having the baby sooner than I thought so I had to think fast Someone in my family had recently had a baby and mentioned the Sorelle cradle She had purchased it at Bellini in Florida and loved it She said it had wheels so it was easy to roll from one room to another I quickly went on amazon and did a search and found it I ordered it and received it much faster than I even expected It did take Alot of work for me to assemble it but I m no Tim the tool man and I was able to do it in a few hours by following the step by step directions Mind you I had NO help and was working totally alone After all was said and done I have to say it was the 1 best thing I bought for the new baby Very sturdy and very beautiful It s well made looks like it costs Alot more than it does My
Baby is about 2 months old now and she is ALWAYS in this cradle and hardly ever in the one I overpayed for I just roll the cradle from room to room with me wherever I go in the house It s so convenient and can take quite a beating It can also accomodate crib toys and mobiles I have both on there now and my baby loves them This cradle was absolutely the Best purchase I
Made I only wish I had gotten it sooner I would suggest cradle bumper bedding though on the inside bc of the design Any standard size cradle bedding will do I bought mine at Babies r Us and it fits perfectly
I HIGHLY reccomend this cradle and can t say enough about it I just love it
